Dennis, There's Some Lovely Filth Down Here

Saturday effin' ruled. We met our great pals Ryan & Kelly, along with Miranda & Brian, out at the Goose for brews and food, then piled into the Sorento to go see Monty Python's Spamalot.

It was brilliant. An excellent production, despite all my mental criticisms (Oh, that's not right, it's 37, not 27 and But Dennis wasn't Galahad...) and wanting to say the lines along with the show ("Listen, in order to maintain airspeed velocity, a swallow has to beat its wings 43 times every second, right?"). The songs were wonderfully written, the sets well-designed, and all the players did great. The costumes looked very good as well. The additions/changes to the plot and storyline, compared to that of the Holy Grail film, were interesting and made for a nice story.

We all agreed afterward that it seemed incomplete without the 'Bridge of Death' sequence, and I thought they also needed a "Get on with it!" moment somewhere in there. Still, the "Song That Goes Like This" was wonderful, and the whole thing where the actress playing the Lady of the Lake gets up and sings about not having been on stage was pretty funny.

All in all, a great time.

And we continued it with more brews and chatter at the Moon & Sixpence. Thanks to R&K and M&B for doing this with us. It was loads of fun!

We had a marvelous time, I particularly loved the Lancelot "coming out of his armour" bit. :) Quite, quite entertaining. :)
