F-Around Friday: Roland v. The Hessian

Again, much too nice a day to be cooped up in this wretched cube farm. I was listening to Warren Zevon's "Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner" on the way in today, and got to thinking: I wonder if he's borrowing from Irving's The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow...

...which brought me to something else. Who's the more fearsome? Roland, or the Hessian?

Discuss.

Okay, I'll start.

I fear Roland more. I mean, you won't hear the thundering of hooves coming after you, giving you warning or anything. If you're lucky, you'll see the muzzle flash just before he ventilates your sorry ass. Don't wanna cross that Roland. Look what happened to Van Owen.

I'll bite. I'd say the Hessian. Here's why: To be fearsome, it'd need to invoke fear. There would be minutes (at least, several seconds) of fear as the headless horseman rode you down... versus the second (or less) of "what the...?" that would happen with Roland. And yes, I'm a smartass. :)
